Rescue & rehabilitation
Our sanctuary offers care to horses and ponies in need. Recovery takes patience, suitable food, attention and a safe place to rest. Helping a horse recover is the beginning of a longer commitment to its wellbeing.
Veterinary care and daily needs
Horses of Gili organises clinics and provides free veterinary services for horses across the three Gili Islands. The work also includes access to fresh water, farrier services, supplies and practical support.
Working with the community
Horses and carts are part of island livelihoods. We help owners with education, care and access to suitable supplies. Local knowledge and long-term relationships are central to this work.
Progress deserves context
In its published January 2024 update, Horses of Gili reported an independent assessment of 396 horses. That is a historical update, not a current count of horses in our care. Follow our social channels for recent news.
