Gili Trawangan is our home
Horses of Gili is based on Gili Trawangan, near Lombok, Indonesia. We support horse welfare across Gili Trawangan, Gili Air and Gili Meno. We are not based on Bali, although many visitors discover us while planning a trip from Bali.
Horses are part of island life
Horse-drawn carts transport people and goods and are part of local livelihoods. We work with the community to improve welfare through veterinary care, fresh water, education and practical support.
A sanctuary, not a riding tour
We do not offer horse riding. Our mission is rescue, rehabilitation and welfare. If you would like to visit or volunteer, contact the team in advance to check what is possible.
How to make your visit more thoughtful
Ask before bringing food or supplies. Give animals space and follow the team’s guidance. If you are worried about a horse, send a clear location, time and description. Share reliable information from the official channels.
